LocalPayment™ has developed a complete e-commerce solution that allows credit and debit card payments, not just basic Internet payments of any amount, but a real-time integrated payment system. Our solution is built to accept exactly the amount due (based on your tax records), no more, no less - reducing returns/refunds which are time consuming and expensive. How is LocalPayment affiliated with the government? Vital Computer Resources, Inc. maintains relationships with over 400 local or other government entities. These interfaces enable LocalPayment to collect and process citizens' tax and fee payments on behalf of our clients. Because we work directly with you, payments are made securely and swiftly, with no delay in processing. How the citizens make a payment? The citizen will go to your local municipal website where we create a link to our secure servers to utilize the payment transactions system. If your town does not have a website, we offer LocalPayment.com as the municipal website portal where municipalities are listed to allow citizens to make their payments. Citizens will match up their unique Parcel Number, Block & Lot, etc. on the website, verifying that the particular record is theirs. The record on the website will give the citizen the exact amount due. They will input their credit card information and the transaction data (the payment amount is pre-filled). This simple process is fast, easy and secure. Convenience Fee and Other User Charges. Processing LocalPayment is FREE to the Municipality. Convenience fees are disclosed, calculated, and charged automatically to the citizen making the online payment. How can the citizen confirm the transaction has been completed? After the citizen initiates the transaction by paying via the Internet, they will receive a digital receipt once their credit card has been authorized and their payment is completed. We strongly recommend that users print out the digital receipt for their records as proof of payment. What types of taxes and fees can be paid with LocalPayment? LocalPayment will initially accept property tax payments. In the second generation of LocalPayment we will be integrating payment capability for other government fees. These other fees may include Utilities, Water/Sewer, Construction/Permits, Food/Liquor Licenses, Recreational Activities, Dog Licenses, Concerts, Marriage Licenses, and Registrar Services.
